FAQs

Does it cost anything to enjoy 2nd Saturdays?

No, it does not.  The outdoor entertainment is all free to the public, and most other shows are free. Those that cost are denoted on the entertainment page.

Is there food at this event?

Yes, there will be food vendors, but there will also be several restaurants open late, including: Sparkroot,  On a Roll,  Jimmy John’s, The HUB, Subway, 47 Scott, Cup Café at Hotel Congress, Maynard’s, Enoteca, Caffe Milano, Café Poca Cosa, El Charro, etc.

What time does the event run?

Generally from 5m until 10:30pm. Times change seasonally. Visit the entertainment schedule for each month’s time frames.

Why doesn’t 2nd Saturdays go all night?

Because we invite you and your family and friends to enjoy the many late-night venues in Downtown and on 4th Avenue, after the programmed 2nd Saturdays activity is done for the evening.

How much does it cost to park my car?

It costs just $3 to park all evening at the Pennington Street Garage, just one short block north of Congress and Scott.  Parking is also free on the street all weekend, just like normal.  You don’t need to pay the meters on Saturdays.

Do you close down Congress Street?

*Starting in April 2012, Congress Street is closed from 4th Ave/Toole Ave to Stone Ave for the streetcar construction.* There is plenty of parking available, however.  The other street closure is Scott Avenue between Congress and Broadway for the Scott Avenue Main Outdoor Stage.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, and your grandparents! While 2nd Saturdays isn’t focused on kids, it does offer some children’s entertainment and it is totally family-friendly.

When is the next 2nd Saturdays event?

The answer to that question will always be, “next month, on the second Saturday of the month”.

Who is the host of 2nd Saturdays?

2nd Saturdays is planned, managed, and promoted by the merchants and venues of Downtown Tucson.

Is 2nd Saturdays part of Rio Nuevo?

No – 2nd Saturdays is an independent, private sector led effort to draw people to Downtown. It has no affiliation with Rio Nuevo.

Why is this event not combined with the First Saturdays Gallery Walk?

Because our goal is to bring people to the Downtown area as often as possible. We would love to see Tucsonans enjoying Downtown every Saturday of the month, as well as all the other days.
